Banana Split Upward Cheesecake



 It's Crazy Cooking Challenge fourth dimension ... cheesecake edition!  Yes, CHEESECAKE.  Oh, gracious sakes ... there's a whole slew of cheesecake variations hitting the blogland airwaves today, as well as I can't wait.  Cheesecake is 1 of my absolute faves, as well as totally should travel it's ain nutrient group.  Don't ya think?

So when Tina of Mom's Crazy Cooking, our challenge hostess, announced cheesecake equally the challenge nutrient for this calendar month ... needless to country ... I was excited.  With 1 caveat ... my husband, just that real week, had decided he wasn't going to eat saccharide for a while.  Gasp!  Horror!!  How was I going to participate inwards a cheesecake challenge without my hubby to gustation exam as well as assistance me swallow the result??

But never fear, alongside a piffling chip of coaxing, hubby rose to the challenge! (no pun intended) ... He laid aside his saccharide ban to assistance out alongside the creation as well as testing for this fabulously fun challenge.

Creamy banana-y cheesecake filling inwards a vanilla wafer crust, covered alongside rich chocolate ganache, topped alongside whipped cream, chocolate spinkles, as well as a cherry ... yup, it's genuinely a banana split upward inwards cheesecake form.  And it's oh as well as then good.

Banana Split Cheesecake

Ingredients
Crust:
1 1/2 c. vanilla wafer cookie crumbs
ii T. sugar
four T. butter, melted

Filling:
iii (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, at room temperature
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (3 bananas)
ii T. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
four eggs, at room temperature

Ganache:
iii oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
five T. butter
1 T. calorie-free corn syrup

Garnish:
Whipped cream
Chocolate sprinkles
Maraschino cherries


Directions
Prepare the Crust:
1.  Stir together the vanilla wafer cookie crumbs as well as sugar.  Mix inwards the melted butter until crumbs are moistened as well as clump together slightly.

2.  Press into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan.  Bake at 375 degrees for most ix minutes, until simply slightly start to brown.  Remove from oven as well as laid aside.

3.  Reduce oven to 300 degrees.

Prepare the Filling:
